We never use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner or your browser settings.

This notice applies to visitors to www.stack-counsel.com and www.stack-counsel.co.uk (the “website”).
Please read it together with our Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle any personal data collected through cookies, and our Website Terms and Conditions.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit. They let the website recognise your device and remember information about your visit, such as which pages you viewed.
In this notice, “cookies” also covers similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, which work in the same way.
Who sets them?
Some cookies are set by us (“first-party cookies”). Others are set by the service providers we use, such as our analytics provider (“third-party cookies”).
How long do they last?
“Session cookies” are deleted when you close your browser. “Persistent cookies” stay on your device for a set period, or until you delete them.
The cookies we use
We use two types of cookies:
- Strictly necessary cookies: these are needed for the website to work. They keep it secure, help pages load properly and remember your cookie choices. Because the website can’t work without them, they don’t need your consent.
- Analytics cookies: these tell us how many people visit the website, which pages they view, how they arrived and how long they stay. We use this to understand how the website is used and to improve it. We only set these cookies if you agree.
What we don’t use
We don’t use advertising, marketing or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don’t sell the information cookies collect.
If you accept analytics cookies, we can see how many visitors read a particular article and whether most of them arrived from LinkedIn or a search engine. We use this to decide what to write about next. We don’t use it to identify you.
Your choices
Do you have to accept cookies?
No. When you first visit the website, our cookie banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. If you don’t, we won’t set them, and the website will still work normally.
Can you change your mind?
Yes, at any time. You can update your choice through the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect anything collected before you changed your choice.
Can you block cookies in your browser?
Yes. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of the website may not work properly. Your browser’s help pages explain how, for example:
- Google Chrome
- Apple Safari
- Microsoft Edge
- Mozilla Firefox
Opting out of analytics
If we use Google Analytics, you can also install Google’s opt-out browser add-on to stop it collecting data on any website.
Other websites and tools
If you book a meeting through our scheduling tool, Calendly, or follow a link to another website such as LinkedIn, that provider may set its own cookies. We don’t control these cookies. Please check the provider’s own cookie and privacy policies.
How long we keep cookie data
We keep website analytics data for up to 12 months. We use it to understand how visitors use our website, monitor its performance and improve the user experience. Each cookie’s lifespan on your device is shown in the table above.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time, for example if we start using a new tool. We will change the “Last Updated” date at the top, and if a change affects your choices, we will ask for your consent again through the cookie banner.
